Local Area Information
The nearby village of Chulmleigh is well appointed. It has two pubs, an Indian restaurant also offering takeaways, a kebab takeaway, bakery, florist, hairdresser, post office and a village shop. There is also a visiting weekly Fish and Chip takeaway van.
Chulmleigh has a par 3 golf course with a clubhouse for drinks and food.
There are many small villages in the area which have lovely, friendly country pubs to visit, offering a variety of delicious menus.
Numerous walks can be found in the area with Eggesford Forest just a 10-minute drive away. Local walks start at the cottage gate; turn right, walk up onto the ridge and you have panoramic views of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Horridge Moor and Chulmleigh Beacon are also within walking distance.
We are extremely well located for excellent days out exploring all of Devon, parts of Cornwall and Somerset. A great combination of beach visits, countryside and coastal walks.

Supermarkets are in South Molton, Barnstaple and Crediton. We tend to stop in one of these locations on our way home. Central Stores in Chulmleigh is our local convenience store.
Major supermarkets deliver to the cottage except for Ocado.
